SALT LAKE CITY — The wait is over.
Taylor Swift dropped a new single called “Me!” Friday that stars Swift and Panic! at the Disco’s Brandon Urie.
The video is an explosion of pastels, kittens and unicorns, and it marks a transitional period for the artist, who appears to be ditching the dark snake imagery from her “Reputation” tour and album in favor of butterflies and pastels.
ME! Out now! Made this song with @brendonurie and @iamjoellittle. Dave Meyers and I co-directed the video. And everyone knows you can’t spell awesome without DAVIDBRENDONJOEL. Oh wait... https://t.co/xFsUDfSRSJ pic.twitter.com/0FgYZqMeOP— Taylor Swift (@taylorswift13) April 26, 2019
Fans have waited weeks for the announcement, which Swift has teased on her Instagram with images from the “Me!” music video since March.
The single was met with elation and satisfaction from many Swift fans, who have lots of good things to say about Swift’s video.
the way taylor incorporated the reputation era at the beginning of the video with a snake & then it changed into butterflies because the reputation she had was nothing compared to her real personality ....... she’s absolutely genius.— alex (@greedyforlove) April 26, 2019
