SALT LAKE CITY— Miley Cyrus all but confirmed Thursday that new music is on its way, but the way she announced it has many fans upset.
Cyrus posted a GIF on Twitter and Instagram Thursday that shows the words “She is coming” against rapidly flashing black and white backgrounds. You can watch it below.
Be advised that the following GIF may potentially trigger seizures, headaches and general discomfort.
Cyrus’s posts have frustrated a lot of social media users who have noted that the flashing light in them is dangerous for people who have photosensitive epilepsy, a condition that can trigger seizures.
“This seems very dangerous,” @BrandenHarvey tweeted. “Maybe you should delete this?”
“This seriously needed an epilepsy warning,” @castillok917 tweeted.
“Not convinced giving people seizures without warning is really all that smart as marketing campaigns go,” @AndrewPaulWood tweeted.
“hey so i really like your music but this should come with a epilepsy warning. seriously. you can be harming a lot of people,” @bylarita tweeted, “seizures are not fun.”
Cyrus has not responded to complaints about the post. She has since made it her pinned tweet on Twitter so that it shows up at the very top of her feed. Cyrus has also added “She is coming 5/30” to her Twitter bio, hinting at the release of what is believed to be her new music.
Lots of fans were undeterred by the post, sharing their excitement for Cyrus’ new music.

“HANNAH MONTANA TOUR WE ARE READY,” @READYF0RIT tweeted.
