SALT LAKE CITY — Danny Ainge suffered a mild heart attack in Milwaukee on Tuesday night, according to the Boston Celtics.

“He received immediate medical attention and is expected to make a full recovery,” the Boston Celtics tweeted Thursday morning.

The Celtics said Ainge, 60, will return to Boston shortly.

“Danny Ainge suffered a mild heart attack in Milwaukee on Tuesday night. He received immediate medical attention and is expected to make a full recovery. He will return to Boston shortly. Further updates will be provided as appropriate,” the Celtics tweeted.

Ainge is general manager and president of basketball operations for the Boston Celtics. He attended BYU where he was a star basketball player for the Cougars. He also played for the Celtics and professional baseball as well.

The Celtics will continue their NBA playoff series Friday night against the Milwaukee Bucks in Boston. The series is tied 1-1.
