SALT LAKE CITY — In “Captain America: Civil War,” Captain Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) left his post as an Avenger to help his friend, Bucky (Sebastian Stan).
But a South Korean soldier went absent without leave for an entirely different reason.
Kotaku reports that a soldier with the Republic of Korea Air Force 20th Fighter Wing left his public station on May 1 to go watch “Avengers: Endgame.”
Military police found the missing soldier via a taxi driver. The MPs later confirmed the soldier was arrested after exiting the theater.
“I wanted to see the Avengers movie so I ran away from the site while we were standing by,” the AWOL soldier said.
According to WowTV, a South Korean news site, a military spokesperson confirmed an investigation will be held following the incident.
Joe and Anthony Russo, the movie’s directors, said yesterday on "Good Morning America" that Disney’s anti-spoiler campaign will end on May 6.
Marvel's next film is "Spider-Man: Far From Home," which will release on July 2, according to IGN.
