SALT LAKE CITY — Six-foot-eight California wide receiver Darren Jones won't be catching passes for the Utah Utes this fall as was hoped when he committed to the program last August, but he will be playing in the Beehive State.

Jones, who was considered a top-300 recruit nationally in both football and basketball by 247 Sports, ultimately never signed with the program, and earlier this week Snow College announced that it has added him to its roster.

In his senior season at El Cajon High in San Bernardino last fall, Jones finished with 81 catches for exactly 1,400 yards and 20 touchdowns, according to MaxPreps.com. His quarterback, Jayden Daniels, was one of the top signal callers in the country and was strongly considering signing with Utah but ultimately chose Arizona State.

Snow College finished the 2018 season with an 8-3 record. In 2019, the Badgers will have a new head coach, as former offensive coordinator Andrew Mitchell replaces Paul Peterson, who is now the head coach at Dixie State.
