PROVO — The Cougars were met with wet conditions during their spring scrimmage on Saturday at LaVell Edwards Stadium, leading to a sometimes sloppy effort in front of the BYU fans on hand.

A couple of young players — one on each side of the ball — shared the spotlight on the day. Freshman tight end Matt Bushman had six catches for 127 yards and two touchdowns combined in skellie and team drills, while freshman linebacker Isaiah Kaufusi had a pair of interceptions off of starting quarterback Tanner Mangum.
