SALT LAKE CITY — Oogie Boogie is having a movement.

The villain from “The Nightmare Before Christmas” — who is literally, as one of my colleagues put it, a “bug-filled mattress” — is popping up all around social media, news headlines and online stores this Halloween season. And we haven’t even reached September.

Here’s a breakdown of where Oogie Boogie has been popping up.

The ‘Oogie Booge Halloween Costume’

That’s right. Oogie Boogie has his own Halloween costume this year. The costume is available at shopDisney.

“If you really want to go to town and show your love for all things Oogie Boogie, then this is how. This is an all-in sort of Halloween costume,” according to Bustle.

The costume costs $129.95 and is available in medium and extra-large.

It includes a foam-padded suit and full latex mask, too. The design is meant to appear like a burlap sack.

“Take a chance at your next costume party in this head-turning Oogie Boogie costume. More than just a sack of bugs, Oogie is the underground villain who likes to gamble and wreak havoc. Wanna bet people will love this costume?” the description reads.

‘Oogie Boogie FunkO’s Cereal’

Yes. You can eat a cereal based on a maggot-filled, burlap-sack-looking creature.

The Oogie Boogie cereal, which is pure green and looks a lot like Apple Jacks, is available on Spirit store’s website. It costs $10.99.

The cereal is currently available to be shipped on Sept. 11, 2019.

“Start off your day with a tasty treat when you pour a bowl of this officially licensed Oogie Boogie FunkO’s Cereal. Not only is this cereal delicious to eat but it also includes a glow in the dark Oogie Boogie Pocket Pop Figure. This green cereal is multigrain flavored and will be sure to help you start off your day the Oogie Boogie way!” the description reads.

‘Oogie Boogie Bash’ set for Disneyland

Disneyland announced earlier in August that it will host an “Oogie Boogie Bash” for Halloween based on “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” according to an earlier Deseret News report.

The new bash will last throughout the Halloween season. It will focus on Oogie Boogie, who will dish out the Halloween themes on Disney’s California Adventure Park, according to the Deseret News.

Several areas of Disneyland will be remade to fit the theme.
