Where’s Kate? That’s the question several viewers had on their mind at the end of season three of “This Is Us.”
The finale featured a flash forward to the 2030s where the entire family is watching Rebecca (Mandy Moore), who appears to be on her deathbed, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
We see a few family members. There’s Toby, who isn’t wearing a wedding ring, but he says he “talked to Jack” and “they’re on their way.”
Does that mean Kate is coming to the hospital too? We haven’t seen Kate since the flash forwards began on the show.
Metz talked to Entertainment Weekly about the mystery.
“There’s something that’s very familiar about it,” Metz told Entertainment Weekly. “Because there’s things that each character — and particularly Kate — haven’t really figured out. So it’s going to continue to haunt her and follow her. But there’s other ones that are mysterious in the uncertainty of it.”
Metz said she’s received questions from fans about Kate’s fate. “I just keep saying, ‘She’s probably at the dry cleaners. It’s fine! Not to fret,’” she said.
Metz said on the “Today” program that season four was tough to film.
“Almost like I don’t know how to explain it,” she said. “Because there’s so much going on. In true ‘This Is Us’ fashion, the ups and downs and all of that in between.”
“How do you raise the bar each season?” she said. “But they’re doing it and just wait …cause … yeah. It’s been a challenge for me, personally.”
