SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Transit Authority is taking nominations for two awards — one to UTA employees who provide remarkable service to riders with disabilities, and one to riders who have a disability and have found independence using mass transit.

Nominations are due by 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27.

The “I Ride UTA” award is presented quarterly to individuals with disabilities who choose to use UTA’s accessible fixed route bus and rail services, paratransit and flex routes.

The “I am UTA” award, also presented quarterly, was created to recognize individuals who provide service above and beyond what is expected of them. Employees can work for any of UTA’s public transit business areas, such as route planning, paratransit trip scheduling, operating a bus or train, maintenance on vehicles, or serving as a transit officer, train host or a customer service representative.

Nomination forms can be found at rideuta.com and searching for the word “awards.” Completed nominations should be sent to: UTA ADA Compliance Officer, 669 W. 200 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84101; by fax at 801-287-4675; or by email at calldredge@rideuta.com.
