An Alaska woman is suing Walt Disney Company for $3 million after she reportedly “violently” struck her head while exiting the Space Mountain ride at Disneyland, according to Fox News.

The woman hit her head after exiting the ride, which had a malfunction. Now, the woman, Sarah Andrews, and her husband, Ryan Andrews, seek $3 million in a lawsuit that was filed to the California federal court.

The event happened back in 2017, according to the Orange County Register. The roller coaster reportedly rolled into the maintenance tunnel, which doesn’t have bright lighting, because of a malfunction, the Register reports.

Workers at the park warned guests to watch their step. However, they reportedly did not warn them about the low ceiling.

Andrews then “violently struck” her head against the ceiling. It was made of concrete. She experienced pain, dizziness and disorientation during the rest of her stay. She said she still felt pain when she left the park later that day.

When she visited the emergency room, she was reportedly diagnosed with a concussion. But her lawsuit says that she suffered from a “traumatic brain injury” and “permanent impairment requiring extensive continuing treatment.”

Andrews won’t be the first person to sue Disneyland. One such case happened back in 1998 when a woman sued Disneyland for wrongly accusing her of shoplifting, according to The Los Angeles Times. The park accused her of stealing a $30 Mickey Mouse doll. She received $65,000 when she won the lawsuit.

Winters said she fought the case so she could stand up for herself, and to show her son that you should always fight for yourself.

“It took two years, but it’s finally over,” said Denise Winters. “I felt I had to prove I had done nothing wrong.”
