It is a scene Marvel fans will never forget — Thanos, on the cusp of attaining all the Infinity Stones — ripped the small, yellow gem from the center of Vision’s head. Vision collapsed there and then, dying before our very eyes as Thanos became the most powerful being in the universe.
So how is Vision alive in the new “WandaVision” Disney+ show?
Vision actor Paul Bettany recently told TV Line that all will be explained in the upcoming series, and that fans should trust the process (and Marvel) to deliver the answer.
- “Trust in Marvel,” Bettany told TV Line. “We got ya. Everybody, stop working so hard to figure it out. Buckle in and love it, and it will take you on a ride. All of these things are going to be explained.”
He told TV Line the show will begin to break away from one format and shift to another, which will lead to longer episodes, too.
- “It is not some arbitrary reason that they are hurtling through the American century at a breakneck speed through sitcoms, and they are as confused as you are. At some point, Vision begins to think, ‘Gosh, there’s just something wrong in this town,’ and he starts to investigate. And of course, the ‘real’ world and this world are on a collision course, and there is an epic denouement for the whole thing,” he said. “Be sure, we are heading somewhere massive.”

Marvel chief creative officer Kevin Feige said new episodes of “WandaVision” will vary in length to keep audiences surprised, as I wrote about for the Deseret News
- “That’s one of the fun things about streaming — and even on the shows that I watch, as a fan: You don’t have the rules of network TV and selling ad time, where it has to start now and end now,” Feige said, according to TVLine. “(Episodes) can grow or shift or shrink or expand to fit the story you’re telling. Even in those first three, the lengths are somewhat different, and that will continue through the rest of the show.”
