The Utah football team will be the recipient of an in-state player who has been in the transfer portal.
On Friday, former Utah State linebacker/defensive end Elijah Shelton announced via Twitter that he has committed to the Utes after announcing on Jan. 13 that he was entering the portal.

Listed by Utah State at 6-foot-1 and 230 pounds, Shelton played in five games for the Aggies as a redshirt sophomore in 2020, tallying 15 tackles (nine solo), including 3.5 for loss and two sacks. He also recovered one fumble.
The sacks number was tied for second on the team.
In three seasons with the Aggies (he appeared in one game in 2018 before redshirting), Shelton played in 15 contests and tallied 41 total tackles (24 assisted, 17 solo) with two sacks and one fumble recovery.
Shelton graduated from Highland High in Salt Lake City in 2018.
