The son of Utah Jazz part owner and NBA legend Dwyane Wade is reportedly on track to start playing in the team’s organization soon.

It won’t be for the Jazz, but The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported Tuesday that Zaire Wade is signing a G League contract and “is expected to” become part of the Jazz’s affiliate, the Salt Lake City Stars.

The 19-year-old Wade measures at 6-foot-3 and 170 pounds, according to 247 Sports. He was originally part of the 2020 recruiting class out of Sierra Canyon High in California, where he was on the same team as Bronny James, LeBron James’ son, but he transferred to Brewster Academy in New Hampshire for a postgraduate year instead of going to college.

Brewster Academy is where Jazz All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell attended. Soon after Charania’s report, Mitchell took to Twitter to congratulate the younger Wade.
