6A quarterfinals

Lone Peak 21, Bingham 14

Lone Peak overcame a slow start, scoring 14 points in the third quarter to pull away from Bingham for the 6A quarterfinal win to advance to the semifinals at the University of Utah. The turning point in the game came in the third quarter when Lone Peak linebacker Mason Patane pounced on a fumble in the end zone which put the Knights up 21-7 in the third quarter.

Weber 14, Syracuse 7

No. 4 seed Weber edged region rival Syracuse in a defensive showdown as it shut out the Titans over the final three quarters to secure its spot in the 6A semifinals. Jett Hill’s 26-yard TD pass from Aidan Carter late in the first half put Weber ahead 14-7 shortly before halftime, and the defense made it hold up.

Skyridge 52, Farmington 7

McCae Hillstead passed for three touchdowns and Jeter Fenton rushed for two more as No. 3 Skyridge overwhelmed Farmington for the easy 6A quarterfinal victory. Teagen Colton was the recipient of two of Hillstead’s TD passes as the Falcons advance to the semifinals where it will face region foe Lone Peak.

Corner Canyon 45, American Fork 28

Devin Brown passed for five touchdowns, two each to Cody Hagen and Dylan Carlson, as 6A top seed Corner Canyon rolled into the 6A semifinals with another dominant victory over American Fork. The game was close early, but the Chargers scored three unanswered touchdowns in the second quarter, including a 1-yard TD run from Drew Patterson.


5A quarterfinals

Stansbury 21, East 7

No. 3 seed Stansbury continued its impressive march into the 5A semifinals as Nate Bushnell scored on a pair of rushing touchdowns, including a 99-yarder in the first half. Stansbury’s defense was equally as dominant, keeping East’s offense out fo the end zone as its only score came on a 70-yard interception in the first half.

Springville 56, Timpanogos 14

Seth Rigtrup rushed for three touchdowns as Springville jumped all over Timpanogos, building a 42-0 halftime lead on its way to the easy 5A quarterfinal victory. Rigtrup’s 84-yard TD run put the Red Devils ahead 28-0 with 4:18 left in the first half, but it scored twice more before halftime. Will Penrod added a 44-yard interception return touchdown in the first has as the defense got in on the scoring as well.

Lehi 23, Timpview 13

A month after losing to Timpview in region play, Lehi flipped the script on a Timpview team many thought was the 5A team to beat with an impressive 5A quarterfinal road victory. Isaac Terrell returned an interception in the first half as Lehi built a 14-3 halftime lead and then Zane Goodrich provided all the scoring the Pioneers needed in the second half with three field goals.

Orem 40, Bountiful 33

Visiting Orem continued its march through the 5A playoffs with another impressive victory in the quarterfinals as it edged Bountiful in an entertaining back-and-forth game. Orem went ahead for good with 2:51 remaining in the game as Mack Hixson scored on a 9-yard TD run, his second touchdown run of the game. Kohlton Brown came up big for the Tigers as well, scoring the game’s first TD on a 13-yard run, and then scoring on a 90-yard kickoff return in the third quarter after Bountiful had tied the game 26-26.


4A semifinals

Dixie 42, Pine View 20

Dixie jumped out to a 21-0 lead on region rival Pine View and never looked back as it rolled to the 4A semifinal victory. All six touchdowns for the Flyers were rushing scores with Seth Takau recording a hat trick of rushing TDs and Shea Anderson adding two more.

Ridgeline 49, Crimson Cliffs 34

The game went back and forth throughout the first half, but undefeated Ridgeline proved to be too much to handle for the Mustangs. Running back Noah White shined, scoring three touchdowns to help the Riverhawks book their first ever appearance in the 4A championship game.


1A semifinals

Duchesne 32, Milford 18

Quarterback Parker Crum passed for two touchdowns, while Duchesne also scored on a fumble recovery by Branon Torgerson and a kickoff return by Garrett Fabrizio to open the second half as the Eagles held off a rally attempt by Milford for the 1A semifinal victory at Southern Utah University.

Layton Christian 14, Kanab 13

Malik Johnson scored the tying touchdown on a 60-yard TD pass from Zoram Petelo with 6:36 remaining in the 1A semifinal, with Mirko Vukovic booting the go-ahead extra point as the Eagles edged Kanab for the win at Southern Utah University in a tight defensive game. Layton Christian’s only other touchdown came very early in the game on a Ilai Jared Tagidugu TD run.
