BYU bounced back from last week’s loss to Creighton to defeat Weber State 89-71 Saturday night at the Dee Events Center in Ogden. The Cougars improved to 9-2 on the season.
Here are three keys to the Cougars’ win:
- BYU hit 16 3-pointers, just two shy of the school record of 18. The Cougars made 16 of 26 from 3.
- Alex Barcello didn’t score his first point until 2:38 left in the first half, but after scoring five points in the first half, he finished with a game-high 23. He made 5 of 6 from 3-point territory.
- BYU trailed briefly at the start of the game but it took control midway through the first half. The Cougars built a double-digit first half lead of 12 and led by as many as 22 late in the game.
