Hours before the 2021 NFL draft was set to begin Thursday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers — the reigning league MVP — wants out of the organization.

Schefter reported that Rodgers is “so disgruntled” with the organization, and that leadership is “aware of his feelings.”

Schefter also reported that numerous teams have called the Packers about Rodgers but no team has made a formal offer for him.

Much of Rodgers’ frustration, Schefter reported, stems from the fact that the Packers traded up to select former Utah State Aggies quarterback Jordan Love with the 26th pick in last year’s draft. Love didn’t play a single down last season as Rodgers had an MVP campaign in his 16th year in the NFL.

A player has never been traded after winning MVP, Schefter noted.
