With a 3-1 loss to No. 6 Arkansas, the Utah Valley women’s soccer team saw its history-making season end Saturday afternoon at Johnson Stadium in Greenville, North Carolina.

The Wolverines earned the school’s first-ever NCAA Tournament win in any sport last Wednesday with a 1-0 victory over Memphis, but things didn’t go nearly as well for UVU Saturday.

The Razorbacks took their first lead in the 41st minute on a goal by Parker Goins. In the second half, Goins struck again in the 48th minute to propel Arkansas to a 2-0 lead. The Razorbacks added another score in the 50th minute to go up 3-0.

Utah Valley got on the board in the 73rd minute on a pass from Amber Tripp to Sadie Brockbank, who scored to cut the deficit to 3-1.

Arkansas had seven shots on goal compared to five for UVU.

The Wolverines completed a memorable season that featured a Western Athletic Conference regular season title, a WAC Tournament crown and its first NCAA Tournament triumph.

UVU will return to the pitch in the fall.
