Disney appears to be pushing for former “The Mandalorian” star Gina Carano to win an Emmy Award for her performance on the show, reports.

Disney’s new marketing materials for the Emmy Awards — which basically offer suggestions to the Emmy Awards for potential nominations — include Gina Carano. She’s listed under the best supporting actress category, according to

Carano was released from her role as Cara Dune at the beginning of 2021 after she received social media backlash for posts she made about political issues, as I wrote for the Deseret News.

  • “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future,” a Lucasfilm spokesperson said in a statement, according to CNET. “Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”

Before she was let go, Carano has been under fire for weeks because of her comments about COVID-19 vaccine, Democrats, face masks and voter fraud, along with other issues, as I explained for the Deseret News.
