6A first round
Corner Canyon 13, Clearfield 0
The Chargers defense was staunch Saturday afternoon as it secured the shutout victory in Game 1 of its series against Clearfield. Jack Finn was on the mound for Corner Canyon and finished with just one allowed hit on 53 pitches.
The Jaguars scored 10 unanswered runs after falling down by four runs in the first inning to secure their first win of the series Saturday afternoon. Deangelo Pavone recorded a game-high four RBIs for West Jordan.
Luke Johnson and Jakob Harrison each recorded two hits and Andrew Cardenas and Justin Morgan each added two RBIs as Taylorsville edged Herriman for the Game 1 win of their 6A first round series.
Davis took the first game of the series against its fellow Region 1 opponent Syracuse. Jake Maw and Mike Wendt each recorded an RBI in a three-run fifth inning that helped seal the victory for the Darts.
Northridge’s Jace Olsen hit a walk-off grand slam Saturday afternoon to clinch the Game 1 victory for the Knights. The hit was Olsen’s second home run of the game as he finished with seven RBIs for the game.
Jake Lindsay, Jonah Powers-Kulpah, Luke Erickson, and Carson Berensen each knocked out a home run to help lift the Warriors to the victory over Kearns in the first round of the 6A Playoffs.
Thanks to six runs in the fifth inning, the Fremont Silverwolves took Game 1 of their series against Roy. Calvin Morrow was the winning pitcher for Fremont, allowing two runs on five hits while throwing six strikeouts in six innings.
Cyprus couldn’t find any cracks in the Westlake defense during Saturday’s Game 1 matchup. Mason Hartle was on the mound for the Thunder, surrendering zero runs on six hits in seven innings to go along with six strikeouts.
5A second round
Pitchers thrived in Murray’s Game 1 win over Box Elder. Murray’s winning pitcher Daniel Brousseau threw eight strikeouts and allowed seven hits in six innings, and Box Elder’s Tate Overson had six strikeouts of his own in five innings.
Despite being out-hit by Lehi, the Wasatch Wasps took the first game of the series. Wasatch’s Payton Swapp provided the highlight hit of the day with a home run in the bottom of the third inning.
Farmington dominated Bonneville in the first game of the series Saturday afternoon. Seven different players batted in runs for the Phoenix.
After trailing Viewmont by one run in the bottom of the fifth inning, Skyline’s Sam Evans hit an RBI single to score two runs to take the lead that the Eagles would carry to the end of the game. Saturday’s win is the first of the series for Skyline.
Orem secured its first win of the series Saturday afternoon over Payson thanks to strong pitching from Luke Kimmel. In just over five innings, Kimmel recorded 13 strikeouts with just three earned runs.
Alex Martinez went 3 for 6 with two doubles and four RBIs as Provo scored three runs in the top of the 11th to knock off Alta for the Game 1 road win in the 5A second round. Provo forced extra innings with a run in the top of the seventh inning.
Truman Dureya pitched the win and hit a double to help lead the Braves to the win over Park City in the second round of the 5A Playoffs.
Daniel Morillo hit a double and rounded up two RBIs to help lift Brighton to the victory over Springville in the second round of the 5A Playoffs.
3A championship
Carbon 5, Grantsville 4 (Game 1)
Carbon pitchers Beau Vea, Wyatt Falk and Rylen Hart combined to hold Grantsville at bay for seven innings as the Dinos forced a second 3A championship with the narrow win. Cooper Schade drove in the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning for the Dinos.
Grantsville 14, Carbon 4 (Game 2)
Grantsville bounced back from missing out on a chance to win the championship in Game 1 with a dominant performance in Game 2 as the Cowboys never looked back after scoring five runs in the top of the first inning. Blake Thomas went 2 for 4 with two doubles and three RBIs to lead the way at the place, while Jace Sandberg pitched four solid innings to set the tone on the mound.

2A championship
A monster 11-run fifth inning led the Beavers over Parowan in the first game on the state championship. It was Beavers’ fourth win in just over 24 hours and forced a deciding winner-takes-all between the two teams later in the day.
Crayton Hollingshead went 2 for 5 with two doubles while Jake Eichorn went 2 for 3 with two doubles as well as Beaver scored a run in every inning but the first inning to hold off Parowan for its third straight victory on Saturday as it clinched the 2A state championship. Boston Black earned the victory as he pitched five solid innings for the Beavers.
