A new piece of concept art from “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” shows Padme and Darth Vader saying goodbye for the final time, and it’s so tragic.

The artwork — which was designed by artist Erik Tiemens — shows Padme and Darth Vader (previously known as Anakin Skywalker) saying goodbye before he leaves for Mustafar to murder all the Separatist leaders.

The photo shows C3PO in the background as well, looking at a looming storm in the background. The darkness of the sky appears to overshadow the light, a symbol of how the dark side is overtaking the light.

There’s been another concept art from “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” that shows the original and tragic end to the film. The photo shows Padme and Anakin (by then Darth Vader) on Mustafar. It includes Padme, who is dressed in a red cloak, holding a sharp dagger in her left hand — a sign that she’s trying to protect herself from Anakin, as I wrote for the Deseret News.
