Disney+ announced Monday that it will have a slew of new content available to celebrate May 4, which is also known as Star Wars Day and May the Fourth.

Here’s a breakdown of what to expect on May 4.

  • “Star Wars: The Bad Batch” — The new animated series, which centers around a group of ragtag Clone Troopers, will air its first episode on May 4. The rest of the series will debut episodes on Friday, beginning May 7.
  •  “Maggie Simpson in ‘The Force Awakens From Its Nap’” — Yes, that’s right. Disney+ is adding a new “The Simpsons” short film. In this one, Maggie Simpson goes on an adventure on which she meets “young Padawans, Sith Lords, familiar droids, Rebel scum, and an ultimate battle against the dark side,” according to a Disney+ press release.
  • “‘Star Wars’ Biomes” — This new series will offer a virtual look at “iconic and beloved locations like Hoth, Tatooine, and Sorgan,” according to Disney+. It’s unclear how these “biomes” will be presented or how to access them.
  • “‘Star Wars’ Vehicle Flythroughs” — Similar to the “Biomes” concept, the vehicle flythroughs will give fans a deep dive into two iconic “Star Wars” ships, including the Millennium Falcon and an Imperial Star Destroyer.

Disney+ announced late last week that it plans to share new fan concept art for Star Wars Day, as I wrote about for the Deseret News.

  • Per StarWars.com, Disney asked fan artists to create new art designs that would be added onto the “Star Wars” landing page on the Disney+ streaming service.
