But, maybe more importantly, Marvel revealed the full sequel titles for three of its MCU films — “Black Panther,” “Captain Marvel” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp.” Since those films were originally greenlighted for sequels, we’ve only known them as “Black Panther 2” or “Captain Marvel 2.” Well, now we have official titles.

The upcoming titles and release dates for those sequels include:

  • “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” — July 8, 2022.
  • “The Marvels” — Nov. 11, 2022.

This is the first time we’ve heard official notes about the sequel titles. We’ve really only heard rumors about the films without an idea of what the titles will be.

Recently, “Black Panther 2” star Lupita Nyong’o told Yahoo! that director Ryan Coogler changed his idea for the sequel after the original film’s star, Chadwick Boseman, died from stage 3 colon cancer in 2020.

  • “And his idea, the way which he has reshaped the second movie is so respectful of the loss we’ve all experienced as a cast and as a world. So it feels spiritually and emotionally correct to do this,” she said. “And hopefully, what I do look forward to, is getting back together and honoring what he started with us and holding his light through it. Because he left us a lot of light that we’re still going to be bathing in. I know that for sure.”

And then there’s “Captain Marvel 2,” which we don’t know anything about at this point. We did see something of a teaser in “WandaVision” in a post-credits scene where Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson told Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) that her friend — likely Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) needs help somewhere in space.

There haven’t been many hints about “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.” But director Peyton Reed said the Quantum Realm may be a good starting place for ideas.

  • “We spend more time in the Quantum Realm in this movie, obviously, than the first movie but it feels like we’re just dipping our toes into it,” Reed said, according to ComicBook.com.
