John Krasinski recently explained a few more details about the aliens seen in the “A Quiet Place” franchise, explaining their origins and that, yes, they are aliens.

What did John Krasinski say about ‘A Quiet Place’ aliens?

Krasinski said on the “Empire” podcast that the creatures seen in “A Quiet Place” and “A Quiet Place Part II” really are aliens.

  • “They are absolutely aliens. They’re from another planet,” said Krasinski, according to ScreenCrush. “Where I developed the idea of them and what I wanted them to look like was most alien movies are about takeovers, agendas, they’re a thinking alien creature, and for me this idea of a predator, this idea of a parasite, this idea of something that is introduced into an ecosystem (was interesting).”

Krasinski said the aliens’ takeover of Earth would be similar to a “terrible” joke of “releasing wolves into a daycare center.”

  • “So the idea is if they grew up on a planet that had no humans and no light then they don’t need eyes, they can only hunt by sound,” he said, according to ScreenCrush. “They also develop a way to protect themselves from everything else so that’s why they’re bulletproof and all these things.”

He said the aliens have bulletproof armor that helped them travel to Earth.

John Krasinski offers hints at ‘A Quiet Place Part III’

Krasinski recently told The Hollywood Reporter that the new film in the franchise — “A Quiet Place Part II” — has a few hints for a potential third film, if it gets made. He said he wanted to set up another film if the crew is lucky enough to make one.

  • “So a lot of the things I had thought were interesting to think about on Part I ended up being in Part II,” Krasinski told The Hollywood Reporter. “And then on Part II, I learned my lesson very quickly. Any time I had ideas like that, I wrote them down in case there ever is a Part III or a third one. So I would be able to reference some of these things if there is a Part III. And we even went so far as to put in a couple Easter eggs, so that if I did do a third one, they would connect back to the second one.”
