We ask that all of you remain in your seats during the break between the first and second quarter, and the break between the third and fourth. We have special tributes planned for Ty Jordan and we would love for you to help us honor him. #LLTJ pic.twitter.com/lOPqH5amq7
Jordan, a freshman running back on the Utes’ team in 2020, died tragically last Christmas night, and the team is dedicating the 2021 season to him.
“His personality and his charisma and the way he lit up the room is what I’m going to miss the most,” Utah coach Kyle Whittingham told the Deseret News in March. “It’s a situation where Ty is on all of our minds still. It’s been a few months but he was such a dynamic person. I personally miss him every day.”
Thursday’s game between Utah and Weber State will kick off at 5:30 p.m. MDT at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
