One of the most recognizable figures in BYU sports history will be getting inducted into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame this week.

On Wednesday, BYU announced that Jimmer Fredette will be inducted, along with baseball player Brian Banks, athletic trainer Gaye Merrill, track and field athlete Amy Menlove Otis and golfer Carrie Summerhays Roberts.

The group will be inducted by the Cougar Club on Friday and then honored Saturday at halftime of the football team’s game against USF at LaVell Edwards Stadium.

This year marks the 46th of BYU’s Athletic Hall of Fame’s existence, and nearly 250 people have been inducted. Criteria for consideration include All-America accolades, graduation from the university, professional accomplishments and community service.
