Right in the middle of the Utah Runnin’ Utes’ fifth straight loss on Saturday night, they got some good news in the form of a commitment from a prospect in the class of 2022.

On Instagram, Canadian guard Wilguens Exacte Jr. announced his pledge to head coach Craig Smith and the Utah program.

Listed at 6-foot-5 and 200 pounds, Exacte Jr. has already had a unique basketball journey. He hails from Montreal, but he has been part of the NBA Academy Latin America in Mexico, a place under-the-radar prospects can go to improve their games.

Verbal Commits has listed that Exacte Jr. holds scholarship offers from East Carolina and George Mason.

Exacte Jr. becomes the first known prospect to commit to Utah as part of its 2022 recruiting class.
