Utah State ended its four-game losing streak with a convincing 75-57 win over the Aztecs

Here are three keys to Utah State’s 75-57 victory over San Diego State:

  • Clinging to a one-point lead at halftime, the Aggies broke the game open with a 14-2 run to open the second half and never let the Aztecs get any closer than seven points the rest of the game.
  • Playing without starting guard Rylan Jones (concussion) for a second straight game, sophomore guard Steven Ashworth stepped up his offensive game, scoring a team-high 17 points, including five 3-pointers.
  • Senior forward Justin Bean delivered another double-double (13 points, 13 rebounds) and junior guard Sean Bairstow came up with all 10 of his points in the second half to help the Aggies shoot 49.1% from the field — just better than the Aztecs (48.9%) who got 19 points from senior guard Matt Bradley.
