Top NFL Combine storylines in 2024
A top storyline this year, as in most years, is what will happen with the quarterbacks. USC’s Caleb Williams, who could be the No. 1 pick in April’s draft, won’t participate in health assessments or football drills, but other top prospects like Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy will take part in all or most activities in hopes of moving up draft boards, according to CBS Sports.
Here are other storylines to follow during the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine:
- Will someone run a sub-4.2 second 40-yard dash? The current record of 4.22 seconds was set by wide receiver John Ross in 2017, per NFL.com.
- What will happen with the No. 1 pick? Although draft picks aren’t made at the NFL Combine, teams use the event to assess their trade options. NFL insiders expect that, when the weekend is over, we’ll have a better sense of whether the Chicago Bears will hold onto the top pick in the 2024 NFL draft.
- Who will shine the brightest? Each year, the NFL Scouting Combine turns one or two relative no-names into stars.
