The Lehi community held its annual 9/11 Day of Service with a wide variety of projects and partners on Saturday — joining thousands throughout the state doing similar service projects.

Executive director of Unsheltered Utah, Wendy Garvin said, ‘Folks don’t have access to enough water, and so they get dehydrated pretty easily, and that leaves them very vulnerable to heat stroke.’
Salt Lake City confirms there is nothing to indicate that the man’s death is suspicious, though the state medical examiner’s office is still investigating his cause of death.
The new process, which creates an overlay zoning district, essentially allows any district in the city to possibly house a resource center, while also not specifying where those resource centers could be allowed.

“Jackman’s arrest came as the three SLCPD patrol officers conducted proactive follow-up on this case around Fayette Avenue and 200 West,” a news release from the police department says.
“If the police care about people, if they care about protecting and serving they should be leaving this up. In fact, they should be helping in some kind of way,” Carl Moore said.
“If you can, please check on any vulnerable neighbors to make sure their heat is working and they have everything they need,” Salt Lake City Mayor, Erin Mendenhall wrote online.
The report shows the significant financial impact child care issues pose on Utah’s economy, as well as the specific hurdles parents face while navigating child care and work.
‘You lose sleep over it. What can be done differently? And sometimes the answer is I don’t know,’ member of the Mountainland Continuum of Care, Heather Hogue said.
“Experiencing homelessness is one of the roughest things that I’ve gone through in my life,” said Steffine Amodt, of the Salt Lake Valley Coalition to End Homelessness.
