The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has updated its list of countries to avoid if you’re thinking of traveling internationally.

CDC adds more countries to risk list

Per CNN, the CDC added four destinations to its “Level 4: COVID-19 Very High” risk list:

  • Dominica
  • Jersey
  • Montenegro
  • Turkey

This came after the CDC added 16 destinations to its “very high” COVID-19 risk level list last week. The CDC recommended people avoid traveling to these countries because of the risk of COVID-19.

  • “Fully vaccinated travelers are less likely to get and spread COVID-19. However, international travel poses additional risks, and even fully vaccinated travelers might be at increased risk for getting and possibly spreading some COVID-19 variants,” the CDC said.

Per CNN, a country will often make this list if there has been more than 500 cases per 100,000 residents in that individual nation.

CDC warns over traveling to Israel

Earlier this month, the CDC warned against travel to Israel — which is one of the most vaccinated countries in the world — because of the delta variant’s continued spread throughout the world.

  • The CDC said people should “avoid travel to Israel.”
  • “If you must travel to Israel, make sure you are fully vaccinated before travel,” the CDC warning reads. “Because of the current situation in Israel, even fully vaccinated travelers may be at risk for getting and spreading COVID-19 variants.”
