A new report suggests Felicity Huffman won’t serve her entire prison sentence.
What happened: The former “Desperate Housewives” star turned herself in for her prison sentence on Tuesday, Oct. 15, according to People magazine. But it turns out she’ll be released on Oct. 27, according to Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator, which means she’ll only serve 13 days in prison.
- TMZ similarly reported that she won’t spend all 14 days in prison “because of the few hours she spent behind bars following her initial arrest as part of the college admissions scandal back in March,” according to AOL.
Why?: The time will be cut because of “the time it took for authorities to arrest her at her home, book her and ultimately release her after several hours will be counted as the 14th day of her sentence,” AOL reports.
Flashback: Huffman turned herself into the low security federal correctional institution in Dublin, California. Celebrity criminals have a history of spending time in the facility. Her prison sentence was supposed to last for 14 days.
- Huffman pleaded guilty to fraud charges back in May for paying $15,000 to Rick Singer so that a proctor could change answers on Huffman’s daughter’s SAT test. Huffman was sentenced to 14 days in prison on Sept. 13, along with a $30,000 fine and 250 hours of community service.
