“The Masked Singer” unveiled its latest star Wednesday night, and it was a little underwhelming.

What happened: The Skeleton was eliminated Wednesday night after battling against the Flamingo, Leopard, Black Widow, Thingamajig and Butterfly, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Flamingo performed first, singing “Footloose” by Kenny Loggins. Leopard followed up with “Stitches” by Shawn Mendes, and then Black Widow performed “Before He Cheats” by Carrie Underwood.

The Skeleton sang “Are You Gonna Be My Girl?” from the band Jet, and then Thingamajig sang “Rainbow” from Kacey Musgraves. Butterfly rounded out the competition with “Livin’ on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi.

This week had a different result than previous weeks. Judges and audience members voted on their favorite after hearing all of them sing.

Skeleton received the lowest votes of the bunch. He was sent packing. And the Skeleton was revealed to be ... Paul Shaffer.

Paul Shaffer: He has a history of appearing on late night comedies, including “Late Night” and “Late Show” with David Letterman. He also worked with “Saturday Night Live” from 1975 to 1980.

Shaffer said the experience was “nuttier” than anything else, according to Entertainment Tonight.

“It gave me a chance to try songs I never would have thought I could pull off in real life,” Shaffer said.
