Mossimo Giannulli, the husband of former “When Calls the Heart” star Lori Loughlin, allegedly made a pair of statements that show how much he may have known about the plan to get his daughters into the University of Southern California, according to CNN.
In August 2016, William “Rick” Singer — the mastermind of the college admissions scandal — emailed Giannulli and Loughlin, telling them that he needed a copy of Isabella’s transcript and test scores “very soon while I create a coxswain portfolio for her.”
He added, “It would probably help to get a picture of her on an ERG in workout clothes like a real athlete.”
According to the indictment, Giannulli replied, “Fantastic. Will get all.”
Months later, Singer emailed an invoice of $200,000 to Loughlin and Giannulli once Isabella was accepted to the university, according to the indictment, CNN reports.
Giannulli then took that invoice and forwarded it to his accountant.
“Good news my daughter ... is in (U)SC ... bad is I had to work the system,” he allegedly wrote, CNN reports.
Giannulli and Loughlin are accused of paying $500,000 in bribes so their daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose Giannulli, could be fake crew teams recruits for the University of Southern California. The couple pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy fraud, conspiracy to commit money laundering and conspiracy to commit federal programs bribery.
The university said Monday that Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose are no longer enrolled in the school.
