A new trailer for the new “Star Wars” TV series “The Mandalorian” dropped Monday night, providing a heavy amount of fan service with only about two weeks to go until the show drops on Disney Plus.
Watch the trailer below.
What it shows: The 97-second trailer offers a few hints about what’s to come with the Disney Plus show, which will follow the life of a bounty hunter (played by Pedro Pascal), who exists in the time period between “Return of the Jedi” and “The Force Awakens.”
- The trailer begins with a shot of fallen stormtrooper helmets in the sand, some of which are staked on spikes. There’s a fight scene with electric spears, fugitives frozen in carbonite (giving us some serious Han Solo “Empire Strikes Back” vibes) and more space battles.
The prequels: People even noticed that droids from “The Clone Wars” and “Star Wars: Attack of the Clones” poked their way into the trailer, which hints that this show will tie other “Star Wars” properties together.
Cast: Other than Pascal, other cast members, including Carl Weathers, Gina Carano and Giancarlo Esposito, make brief appearances in the trailer.
Mask: Another shot shows a woman preparing to remove the main character’s mask. According to USA Today, producers for “The Mandalorian” have been quiet about whether the character will appear without a mask.
Release date: “The Mandalorian” will hit Disney Plus’ streaming service on Nov. 12, the first day the program launches.
