Netflix released the first trailer for its first original animated film, “Klaus.”
What it’s about: The new film will focus on the origin story of Santa Claus, who is named Klaus in this film. Klaus (J.K. Simmons) and his silent partner Jesper (Jason Schwartzman). Jesper discovers the carpenter Klaus and offers to deliver all the toys Klaus makes if Klaus donates them. Soon, word gets out and children start writing letters to Klaus to make toys for them.
“The problem is that the locals are used to their day-to-day lives of not speaking to one another on ‘the unhappiest place on earth,’” according to Entertainment Weekly.
More cast: Rashida Jones, Joan Cusack, Will Sasso and Norm Macdonald will also voice characters in the film.
Release date: The film drops on Netflix Nov. 15.
