“Fuller House” star Andrea Barber recently admitted that Lori Loughlin’s absence from the new season of “Fuller House” has left “a hole on our set.”
Barber opened up about the former “Full House” star in an interview with the “Watch With Us” podcast, which is owned by Us Weekly magazine.
“It’s very sad. She was a big part of ‘Fuller House.’ She wasn’t in every episode, but her presence was definitely felt. We loved every single time she came on the set. So we have definitely felt her absence this season,” Barber said, according to Fox News.
“We wish it wasn’t that way, and we wish she could be here because it definitely feels like there’s a hole in our hearts and a hole on our set,” Barber said. “But we understand that this is the decision that was made, and we respect it. But she’s always in our hearts forever. Every time we step on stage, she’s in our hearts.”
Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, are accused of paying $500,000 in bribes so that their daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose Giannulli, could be team crew recruits for the University of Southern California. The couple has pleaded not guilty on all charges.
Other “Full House” stars have opened up about Loughlin’s status. John Stamos, who played Loughlin’s on-screen husband, avoided answering questions about Loughlin. He did, however, tell Entertainment Tonight that it was a difficult situation.
“I haven’t been on the show yet and it hasn’t come up, so I’m going to talk to some people about it this week and see what’s going on,” he said. “I’m just going to wait a little longer before I talk about it. It’s a difficult situation for everyone involved. I don’t mean just on our side.”
Bob Saget recently opened up in a new interview that he doesn’t like to cut people out of his life, as reported by the Deseret News.
“I love the people I love, and people go through life, and stuff happens,” the 63-year-old told Fox News. “For a while, I was saying, ‘no comment,’ and now there’s just no point in talking about it because I’ve answered it. What I would say is, I love the people I love, and I have empathy for people that are in my life for 35 years. I don’t cut people out.”
That said, the “Fuller House” cast has remained mostly quiet on Lori Loughlin and their connection to her in the wake of the scandal. It appeared that the cast referenced her at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards earlier this year, as reported by the Deseret News.
“Thank you for voting ‘Fuller House’ as your favorite funny TV show! You have been laughing alongside our family for four seasons. And this family has a lot of heart,” said Andrea Barber during the award show, according to The Washington Post.
Candace Cameron Bure added at the show: “And where there’s a lot of heart, there’s a lot of love.” She added, “And a loving family sticks together no matter what. They stick together through the hard times, they support each other, they encourage one another, they pray for each other — and they stand by their side no matter how tough it gets. And a loving family that sticks together also celebrates the really good times together.”
