A few celebrities have been mentioned during the ongoing impeachment inquiry hearings, causing increased conversation on social media.

What happened: David Holmes, a senior diplomat for the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, mentioned both Jay Leno and Kim Kardashian during his testimony Thursday.

Jay Leno: The first reference to Leno came when Holmes said, “Ambassador Sondland hosted a dinner in President Zelenskiy’s honor... Jared Kushner, Secretary Pompeo’s counselor Ulrich Brechbuhl, senior European Union officials, and comedian Jay Leno, among others,”

Kim Kardashian: Holmes said Sondland told Trump that Sweden “should have released him (A$AP Rocky) on your word,” but “you can tell the Kardashians you tried.”

A$AP: Holmes’ mention of the two celebs follows other testimonies that have mentioned rapper A$AP Rocky, who was previously detained in Sweden. Holmes mentioned A$AP Rocky, too. He said Gordon Sondland recommended Trump to not interfere and let A$AP Rocky “be sentenced, play the racism card, give him a ticker tape when he comes home.”

Why it matters: As Deadline reports, Kim Kardashian asked Trump to help free A$AP Rocky’s release from Sweden. The rapper had been convicted on assault charges. He was given a fine and later release, though.
