SALT LAKE CITY — Taylor Swift hyped up her new album “Lover” with Easter eggs.
She spent months promoting the new album, which dropped early Friday. In previous interviews, Swift hinted at what was to come. There was the whole jean jacket fiasco, where she wore a jean jacket on the cover of Entertainment Weekly with pins that reportedly hinted at upcoming songs. And then there were the music videos — like for “Me!” and “You Need to Calm Down” — which also offered glimpse at what was to come on “Lover.”
Well, on Friday, the new album finally dropped. It has 18 songs, including an appearance by the Dixie Chicks. All of the summer single releases — “Lover” and the two previous songs I mentioned — are there, too.
Social media of course reacted to the news. Stans stanned. Fans fanned. But others pointed out some conspiracy theories about what the album’s songs mean.
Here’s a breakdown of what was found on the new album.
