The latest image from “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” shows that Rey is ready for the fight.

What happened: The official “Star Wars” Twitter account tweeted a photo of Rey (Daisy Ridley) standing with a harsh grimace and a lightsaber in her hand. A blue sky and clouds hover behind her. The tweet reads, “Something inside me has always been there. But now it’s awake.”

“The Last Jedi”: The quote comes from “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” during a conversation between Rey and Luke Skywalker.

  • “Something inside me has always been there. But now it’s awake. And I’m afraid. I don’t know what it is or what to do with it. And I need help,” she tells Luke.
  • Luke replies, “You need a teacher. I cannot teach you.”
  • Rey says, “Why not? I’ve seen your daily routine. You’re not busy.”
  • But Luke Skywalker has one response: “I will never train another generation of Jedi. I came to this island to die. It’s time for the Jedi to end.”

Next up: As we know from the previous trailers, Rey seems to be back in the thick of things in the “Star Wars” universe. The latest trailer showed her using a red lightsaber, too.
