“America’s Got Talent” had its season finale Wednesday, and Kodi Lee won.
Lee, a Utah native from Tooele, was crowned the winner during Wednesday’s two-night season finale.
“I feel so amazing. … Unbelievable,” Lee said.
During the show, Lee performed with Leona Lewis to perform her and Calum Scott’s “You Are The Reason.”
Lee was a longtime frontrunner to the show. Prior to the episode, Lee posted a photo on Instagram Tuesday night expressing his support and adoration for fans who have cheered him through the season.
“From the bottom of my heart thank you to everyone who has followed me along this journey!!!! All of your love and support means the world to me!!! Be sure to watch me and my friends on #agt (“America’s Got Talent”) tomorrow!!!” Lee wrote.
On Tuesday night, Lee performed “Lost Without You” by Freya Ridings. Watch the emotional performance below.
What they’re saying: Lee’s performance earned the support of judges on the show.
Howie Mandel predicted that Lee would walk away the champion, according to Gold Derby, a website for reality competition news.
- “Two words come to mind: heck yeah! I think Season 14 is the season of Kodi Lee, and if I had to predict, you’re worth much more than a million, but I think you’re gonna walk out of here with a million.”
Julianne Hough also praised Lee after Tuesday night’s performance.
- “Kodi Lee, when you get on that stage and you open your mouth and you sing, time stops. You impact us in a way that we get to share this moment collectively together forever, and you create that moment for us, so thank you.”
Gabrielle Union, another judge on the show, praised Lee for his work throughout the season, too.
- “Kodi has changed the world. He changes every room he enters. And when he said I think I’d be ‘lost without you,’ I think the whole world would be lost if we had not find Kodi Lee. Thank you for blessing us all, Kodi. Thank you so much.”
Flashback: Lee has had a bundle of success throughout season 14. The blind singer won the season’s first golden buzzer and was a quick entry into the semifinals. His heartwarming cover of “Bridge Over Troubled Water” by Simon & Garfunkel won over audiences, too, last month.
