“Doctor Strange” star Benedict Wong is pretty sure he’ll be in “Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.”
Wong visited Salt Lake City this week for the FanX Salt Lake City Comic Convention. Before the event, Wong told the Deseret News in a phone interview that he expects the “Doctor Strange” sequel to start filming next year.
Wong played the character Wong in the original “Doctor Strange.” And it appears he will be in the sequel, which was announced at San Diego Comic-Con.
“Yeah, I think so,” he said. “I hope so. As far as I know.”
Wong said he’s often one of the last people to find out about casting decisions.
“I tend to find out with everyone else,” he said. “I think I’m probably the last one to know. When I get the call, you know, I’m there.”
Wong said he’s working on another film in Utah called “Nine Days.” He’s also working on a separate movie called “The Personal History of David Copperfield.”
Wong told the Deseret News that he really enjoyed his roles in “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame.” He said his favorite scene was the final battle scene where all the Marvel heroes gathered together to fight Thanos.
Wong said he grew up a fan of “Spider-Man” comics, and that he has always enjoyed the Marvel universe.
