Disney Plus shared a teaser for its upcoming original film, “Stargirl.”
What’s going on: Disney Plus released the first official trailer for the project earlier Wednesday morning.
More: Disney Plus posted the photo of a poster for the upcoming film on Twitter.
- The poster shows a young women staring into the distance with a sunset behind her.
Cast: The film stars “America’s Got Talent” winner Grace VanderWaal. who will be making her acting debut.
- Giancarlo Esposito, Karan Brar, Darby Stanchfield, and Maximiliano Hernández will also appear in the film.
Story: The film is an adaptation of “Stargirl,” a 2000 young adult novel. Stargirl moves to a new school and meets a boy named Leo, who is trying to become invisible.
- VanderWaal told Entertainment Weekly: “With the growth of social media, there’s the strongest force to conform more than ever, more than ever, ever, ever. All young people feel that. I’ve felt that because I’m not the standard at the moment and it’s really, really important for everyone to know that if we were all supposed to be the same, we would be the same. We’re different for a reason and I don’t know why we would change that because that’s such a cool blessing.”
Release date: The film drops March 13.
