Newly leaked concept art shows what appears to be a villain we never got to see in “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.”

What’s going on: New images from a forthcoming “Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker” concept art book leaked online over the weekend, according to Forbes.

  • The images show a host of never-before-seen images from “Rise of Skywalker.” One of which shows a mysterious villain creature who meets with Kylo Ren.
  • The creature looks similar to a spider. And it may have been a villain from a rumored script of the third film that never saw the light of day.

Context: Last week, a script from Colin Trevorrow, who was originally meant to direct the ninth Star Wars film, leaked online. It was for a film called “Duel of Fates.” The script included a description of a “Lovecraftian” creature named Tor Valum, who was said to have teachings for Palpatine, Darth Vader and Kylo Ren.

Other ideas: There’s another thought that the creature could be called the Oracle, who appeared in JJ Abrams’ early script ideas, according to Forbes.

  • Per Cinemablend: “Based on one piece of art, that shows Kylo meeting the Oracle in water surrounded by trees that are on fire, perhaps the Oracle was eventually replaced by the Wayfinder itself. This looks like it could be out of the same scene on Mustafar where Ren tore through a bunch of faceless soldiers to find the Sith device, but instead of finding a box, he finds this thing.”
