Fortnite just teased a new event focused around the new DC Comics movie, “Birds of Prey.”

What happened: Warner Bros. Pictures shared a small video of the “Birds of Prey” cast. But the Fortnite Twitter account responded: “See you soon Harley! 😏.”

  • That’s as big of a hint that you’ll get that “Birds of Prey” — the DC Comics film about Harley Quinn after she’s broken up with the Joker — will have a crossover event with Fortnite.

Flashback: Fortnite is no stranger to crossover events. The game has included Marvel characters in their games — the Thanos event was one of the biggest moments in the game’s early history — as well as “Star Wars” characters.

  • Recently, Fortnite collaborated with DC Comics for a Batman anniversary event, bringing Batman and Catwoman characters to the game.

What they’re saying: Forbes writer Paul Tassi supported the move.

  • Tassi: “As such, given that this is the first non-/‘Joker’ DC comic book movie since these crossovers started happening, it seemed like a no-brainer for Fortnite to collaborate here. Namely because the potential for skins is extremely high, and skins that will sell very, very well, most likely.”

What’s next: A Fortnite leaks Twitter account suggested the skin could drop around Feb. 7, which is the release date of the movie.
