“Avengers: Endgame” will be more family-friendly when the show hits television screens.

What happened: Reports suggest that “Avengers: Endgame” will cut one famous line from the film and multiple violent and gruesome scenes when it airs on television, according to ComicBook.com.

  • The reports surface from one Reddit user, who said he or she watched the movie at a hospital.
  • “Endgame” cut out Captain America’s famous “that’s America’s a—,” line, which he says when he looks at a younger version of himself passed out on the ground.
  • The Reddit user said the film cut gruesome violence, too, including the scene where Thanos loses his arm and the scene where Thor chops off his head, according to ComicBook.com.

The line: The line about Captain America’s butt was a meta joke pointed at Chris Evans, who didn’t always enjoy wearing the costume, according to writer Stephen McFeely, who spoke with The Los Angeles Times.

  • McFeely: “It’s a little meta. Chris Evans has never been comfortable with that outfit from the first Avengers movie. And so in the rearview, it’s a little way to wink at how that was then, and this is now. And then it sort of just built from there. By the time we got to the fight scene where he defeated himself, his butt is on the ground and he was just sitting there for a callback.”
