A new aerial photo shows off the new Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel experience, which is still under construction but set to open in 2021.

  • The photo shows a construction zone with a wide open warehouse building on the right and a stem on the left.
  • “Cabins are in the section at left. Decks of the ship are in the show building at center. Guests will check in and be transported up the the ship for 2 days of adventure inside the Star Wars timeline,” according to bioreconstruct, which tweeted the photo.

Indeed, the photo aligns with concept art, which shows off a starcruiser. The hotel is supposed to simulate the experience of living on a starship in the “Star Wars” galaxy.

The ship will include activities like a lightsaber training course, and allow people to interact together and with characters from “Star Wars.”

  • “There are characters on the ship, and many you will be meeting for the first time. It’s a dangerous time in the galaxy and you should be wary about who you make allegiances with because your choices matter. The choices will affect how your ‘Star Wars’ story unfolds,” said Ann Morrow Johnson, a creative director at Walt Disney Imagineering, according to the Associated Press.

What about the pandemic?

Christine McCarthy, Disney chief financial official, recently told the Orlando Sentinel that the hotel experience — set to appear at Disneyland and Walt Disney World — is still an important project for the company.

  • She said: “We’ve really prioritized some of our investment spending. The ones that we’re really focused on are things like the Star Wars hotel that we’ve discussed publicly that will be in Walt Disney World. That’s a priority.”
