A new “Star Wars” rumor suggests a character from “The Mandalorian” and one from “Star Wars Rebels” will get their own spinoff project.
What’s going on:
Kessel Run Transmissions reports that Cara Dune (Gina Carano) and “Rebels” character Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) will unite in a spinoff series.
- Cara is a former shock trooper for the Alliance. Bo-Katan is the former leader of the Mandalorian creed.
There have been rumors of a Cara Dune spinoff for awhile now, according to ComicBook.com. However, introducing Bo-Katan into the story is a new facet that hasn’t previously been mentioned.
- “The thrill of this rumor extends beyond seeing these two warrior-women of ‘Star Wars’ uniting. Gina Carano and Katee Sackhoff are two fan-favorite personalities outside of their respective character-acting work, and seeing them in a project together would definitely turn heads,” according to ComicBook.com.
Animation into live-action
It’s unclear if this would be an animated or live-action show.

“Star Wars” has a history of moving animated characters into live action, and live action characters into animation.
- For example, the character Saw Gerrera appeared in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” after making appearances in “The Clone Wars.”
- On the flip side, Darth Vader — an iconic character from the films — appeared in “The Clone Wars.”
