Shonda Rhimes — the showrunner behind major ABC hits “Scandal” and “Grey’s Anatomy” — recently told The Hollywood Reporter she ditched ABC for Netflix, in part, because of a Disneyland pass.

  • Rhimes said she battling over budgets with ABC in regards to her shows, which made the process more difficult than she would have wanted.
  • While negotiating between joining Netflix or staying with ABC, Rhimes said she negotiated to have a nontransferable pass to Disneyland for her and her daughters’ nanny, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

She promptly decided to switch to Netflix, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Rhimes went on to sign a $300 million deal with Netflix, per Vulture.
