Hong Kong Disneyland recently unveiled the new “Castle of Magical Dreams” — an updated and transformed version of the “Sleeping Beauty” castle.
- The new castle takes on a different color scheme and theme compared to the original design.
- Hong Kong Disneyland added the new theme to coincide with the park’s 15th anniversary. According to Disney Parks blog, the castle is inspired by the Disney princesses and queens.
Disney Parks said the castle “offers something special for every guest with its many towers and spires — embracing iconic patterns, textures, colors unique to each heroine’s story. This is the first time at any Disney theme park that a castle has shifted from being representative of only one princess to featuring multiple heroines — highlighting the diversity of our unique characters and their stories.”
The castle has design features from Europe, China and Southeast Asia.
There aren’t any specific images tied to princesses or queens on the castle. But it does include inspirations and architecture that will remind you of those characters.
Disneyland reopening:
Hong Kong Disneyland has reopened amid the coronavirus pandemic with reduced capacity and health guidelines in place. Guests must undergo a temperature check when they enter the park and wear a mask while inside the gates.
