SALT LAKE CITY — Members of the original “Hamilton” Broadway cast reunited for a performance of “The Room Where It Happens” in a recent Joe Biden campaign video that promotes voting.

The video features the musical’s creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda, as Alexander Hamilton; Leslie Odom Jr. as Aaron Burr; Daveed Diggs as Thomas Jefferson; and Okieriete Onaodowan as James Madison.

“Vote,” Miranda says at the end of the song.

The ensemble also includes Phillipa Soo, who played Eliza Hamilton; Renee Elise Goldsberry, who played Angelica Schuyler; and Jonathan Groff, who played King George III.

The video includes footage of cast members and others voting and registering to vote. There are also clips of ballots being processed.

The video begins with a clip of Democratic presidential nominee and former Vice President Biden encouraging Americans to “show up and vote.”

“You will determine the outcome of this election,” Biden says. “Vote, vote, vote. If you’re able to vote early in your state, vote early. If you’re able to vote in person, vote in person. Vote whatever way is the best way for you. Just make sure you understand you have it in your control to determine what this country’s going to look like the next four years.”

Biden’s running mate and Democratic vice presidential nominee Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., appears at the end of the video with a message about voting.

“When we vote, things change,” Sen. Harris says. “When we vote, things get better. When we vote, we address the need for all people to be treated with dignity and respect in our country.”
